Product Authenticity & Valuation Policy

At A C Silver Unlimited, trading as Antique Jewellery Store, we take great care to ensure that every item we sell is authentic and accurately described. Our reputation is built on trust, and we are committed to providing customers with clear and reliable information about the jewellery and silverware we offer.

1. Authenticity Guarantee

  • All items are genuine antiques, vintage pieces, or collectables, as described on our website.
  • Where applicable, pieces are hallmarked in accordance with UK hallmarking regulations.
  • We guarantee that all descriptions of materials (including gold, platinum, silver, diamonds, and gemstones) are accurate to the best of our professional knowledge.

2. Gemstone and Diamond Grading

  • Unless otherwise specified, all diamonds and gemstones are graded in situ (within their original antique settings). This avoids unnecessary risk of damage to antique jewellery.
  • Carat weights are therefore estimated by measurement, as stones are not removed from their settings. Antique hand-cut diamonds and gemstones are often irregular in shape, which means weights and measurements should be regarded as approximations.
  • The characteristics provided for gemstones (including carat weight, colour, clarity, and cut) are carefully assessed but should be treated as guidance rather than absolute values.

3. Certification and Valuation Reports

  • Where available, items may be accompanied by a certificate or grading card from an independent gemmological laboratory.
  • We work with recognised gemmological institutions; however, A C Silver Unlimited accepts no liability for the absolute accuracy of external certification.
  • On request, we can provide an insurance valuation for your item. Insurance valuations are based on current replacement value and may differ from resale value.

4. Provenance

  • Where possible, we provide information on provenance (including origin, maker, or historical ownership).
  • Due to the age and nature of antique items, provenance records may be limited and cannot always be guaranteed.

5. Limitations of Assessment

  • Antique jewellery may display signs of age, historical wear, or repair. These characteristics are part of the unique history of each piece.
  • We take care to highlight notable imperfections or alterations in our product descriptions and photographs.
  • All grading, certification, and valuations are carried out by experienced professionals, but assessments are subjective and may vary between gemmologists or laboratories.

6. Customer Assurance

We stand behind the authenticity and quality of every piece sold by Antique Jewellery Store. If you have any questions about an item before or after purchase, please contact us:
